Equine Physiotherapy & Hoof Boot Fitting in Staffordshire

Supporting comfort, movement and long-term soundness for leisure horses

Every horse is an individual. Whether your horse is recovering from injury, managing a condition or simply in regular work, physiotherapy can help maintain balance, strength and comfort.

My approach focuses on whole-body assessment — identifying subtle compensations and movement changes before they develop into larger problems.

I work primarily with leisure and non-competition horses, tailoring treatment to realistic management routines and workload.

When might physiotherapy help?

You might consider physiotherapy if your horse shows:

  • Subtle lameness or toe dragging

  • Stiffness when starting work

  • Reduced performance or reluctance under saddle

  • Changes in behaviour when ridden or handled

  • Uneven muscle development or loss of topline

  • Difficulty with transitions

  • Reluctance to stand square

  • Sensitivity through the back or hindquarters

Small changes often provide early clues

  • Soft tissue injury (muscle, ligament, tendon)

Hoof Boot Fitting

Hoof comfort plays a significant role in overall movement.

For horses transitioning to barefoot management, managing hoof sensitivity, or undergoing rehabilitation, professionally fitted hoof boots can provide support and protection while allowing natural hoof function.

A dedicated fitting appointment includes:

  • Hoof assessment and measurements

  • Discussion of workload and environment

  • Brand and sizing selection using fit kits

  • Guidance on safe, effective use

Correct fit supports healthier movement — not just protection.
